    Hi all,
I have read thorough the FAQ at the beginning of this thread but could not find something on what i am experiencing:

I have a Avi file that i would like to convert to DVD.
I used the program WinAvi (version 5.8) to convert the Avi file to DVD.

It took a while naturally to do the conversion and when done, this is what i get.
The video is spot on in terms of quality. The sound however is so choppy that it makes the resultant DVD unsuable!

Any idea on what I have done wrong or if there is a better way to convert Avi to DVD would be most appreciated.

    Thanks

No idea but you could try updating to the newest version (7.7, I think). I have both and while WinAvi is faster by a little, have a look at VSO ConvertXtoDVD.

v5.8 is an very very old version of WinAVI.The newest version make more progress,so I think you can make a upgrade for a try.And you can try to not use its built-in decoder.
    Good luck!

Thanks, I did not think it would be an issue. I am going to try the other software that was suggested and if that does not work, I will upgrade my version. Is there a decoder I should be favoring?

If the converted files play fine off your HD it could be a media problem. What are you using?
