used winavi, converted rvmb to vcd but NO SOUND

    i used winavi to convert rvmb to vcd..but there is no sound.. at all..and when i try to play it with winamp..only static. i wasted two cds.. so sad. anyone got any suggestions? how can i fix this problem

    It's hard to say what winavi is doing, contact the vendor.

    If you want to try a manual approach, this is what I did.
    Installed the "real alternative" and enabled the dshow codec.
    Installed avisynth 2.5, and used a simple one-line avs script
    and opened the file in virtualdub. The script was like this:
    DirectShowSource("c:\myfile.rmvb")

    Once you open it in virtualdub, you can create an avi file,
    or frame serve it to tmpgenc (to make mpg/vcd) or similar.

    With all the tools available these days, there are plenty of ways
    to get the desired result.
