Hi, I wanted to know that If I was to connect my 5G iPod Video, which is hooked into a universal dock, and then is connected to my TV using the ipod AV cable, will the videos on the ipod be able to play on the TV? If they are, how is the resolution on the video affected?

If you plug the iPod with the AV jacks it will work. But the rez isnt the same if you are watching it on the iPod, it has to be upscaled, but it is decent.

Really depends on how big of a TV your watching on, a good idea of how it will look is play a video converted for your iPod fullscreen on your computer.

It looks decent on a 26" TV set, but a little bit fuzzy, nothing to annoying. Any bigger though and it really becomes noticable.

You also don't have to buy an AV cable from Apple, as theirs is a bit pricey. If you buy a normal 1/8 to RCA cable all you have to do is switch the Yellow and Red [if I remember correctly, if thats not it its switch the Yellow and White] and your iPod will play on your TV just as if it was playing with the Apple cable, just you'll have more money in your pocket.

I was referring to the color swap on there cables. (see early post http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/274576 )

not that the cables made the video look bad, regardless of the cable h264 320x240 can't look good when blown up to 720x576 (PAL)
