Hi everyone, I was wondering if there is any possible way to run RB/CCE and other apps such as Nero on a Linux-based OS. I started using FC3 today so I am still getting used to it. If I NEED to I can install Windows XP along side FC3 but, if RB/CCE and Nero (or similar burn program) run on Linux, I would be extremely happy.

    Thanks for any feedback.

Well, I got the clicking noise to go away, I read something on it being caused by bad sectors. So, I did a low-level format. I installed FC 3 but, it didn't fully install. It ran into another HDD error, so I formatted again and tried reinstalling FC 3. This time, it successfully installed and its running right now. I can't get drivers to install but, as far as i know its newbie operator error. lol. I will update you all as I go.

Well I am slowly getting there, I am still having problems installing stuff. I am currently trying to install my Nvidia 6800 GT drivers but, so far to no avail (I have to get into some low level Linux-type DOS thing, but am not sure how lol)

    I am trying though.

    Later,

Alright, I abandoned FC3 and decided that Mandrake would be a bit easier for a Linux n00b to use. But, I can't get that to install either, it hangs after it does the "Mount USB Filesystem". I am not really sure what I am doing wrong but, I am slowly fixing it.

are you trying to install the filesystem on an external drive?

you can run exe files on wine, www.winehq.com I have had some luck with it, however it is still based on older versions of windows.

also you may want to check out VMWARE go to vmware.com, there are a few other solutions. your best bet is probably dual boot. Install windows first, then mandrake beside windows.
