Using Nero file to big to put on DVD

I downloaded a movie, and it is 700mb. I then tried to use DVD Shrink but it couldnt find the file so i left it. I used Nero 7.7.5.1 to then put it onto a dvd, i used the burning ROM and when i dragged the file accross, it said "one or more files could not be added to compilation" so i used Nero vision to do it, but when it had finished transcoding and sorting out menus it then it was to big to fit on a DVD i tried DVD Shrink again but didnt work. Can any1 help cheers.
