Hello using the above by connecting an audio cassette player to the line in socket on my computer i can't turn the input volume dowm sufficiently, even on 1% it shoots way up into the red,
i have tried all the other settings offered IE. Mike> phone> Line in 2 noneof these seem to make any difference.
has anybody got any helpful advice.
    Thank you

You should have some sort of Output level adjustment on the Tape deck itself. You'll need to adjust that.

    Hello Digidave.
The cassette player is unfortunately just that a player, there is no output volume control or even a counter. made by realistic in the early ninties.
The audio in has somehow to be controled in the computer the sound dialog box has no effect.
    Thank you for your help
