Hi guys, I've got a motorola v551 and a bluetooth dongle. I had both items working properly before (when i was using Windows 98 SE). now that i have Windows 2000, i tried installing it and now having problems. i'm being prompted for a pincode and dont know where to get it from. when i tried pairing them for the first time (on Windows 98 SE), this similar thing came up but i remember having one of them come up with some kind of number. just couldnt remember if my phone gave me one to enter in my pc or vice versa. can one of you guys help me out. would really appreciate it. just dont know why i'm having trouble now when i didnt even come across any problem before.
There is no standard password for pairing bluetooth devices. All that needs to be done is for you to enter the SAME pin codes in both the computer and the phone. Whichever one needs a pin first I'll usually enter some random number, then the phone will say "home computer wants to connect" or something like that I'll say accept, and then when it's time to put in the pin, just use the same number
