When first got new system fall of last year, burned a working VCD right away. Now...repeated failed attempts. A couple will play on my PC, but not on either of DVD players, both of which played the VCD I made last year. I installed Adaptec ASPI driver, because some forum or program install said I should! Mp3 disc...first tries at that. Music sounds like underwater and worse. Odd thing with the VCD's ....if fast forwarding on each DVD player, you will see clear sequence of images/still shots, as disc is scanned. One other thing...when I elect to burn .mpeg file to VCD (using Showbiz).."Advanced" options allow me to change mpg2 format to DVD-special mpeg. Also, I can change size to 720X480 (I think it is). Is there a standard I need to stick with for VCD burns? Any thoughts?
Are you burning it as a .mpeg or a .bin/.cue?? If you are burning the vcd as a .bin/cue there shouldnt be any problems at all... Of its a .mpeg or mpeg2 or whatever I dunnoo... Try writing at a lower speed. Try using different Burning Software. (Nero & Alcohol 120% are the best IMO) Try burning something else (regular Audio CD. Data CD) to see if your burner is working properly. PZ
Not into the "bin/cue" thing... talking about simple mpeg2 file captured from VHS family tape. Chart I have says mpeg1 for VCD. Tried that and still no success. Combo DVD/CD burner worked when creating a DVD. Changed to 4.60 ASPI layer using "ForceASPI". At this time, I dont remember yet if I've tried a VCD since then....had to get away from it for a while. Will let you know in time (waiting out there on the edge of your seats...ha)
