I used the "Convert Divx to VCD with subtitles" guide to covert a Divx avi file to mpeg file.

But when I want to burn it on a CD , Nero says that it it not a VCD compliant file and starts decoding it.

I want to know how can I find that an mpeg file is VCD-compliant?

you can always use nero burning rom. not the express mode. uncheck the create compliant vcd. it will burn the file. the problem is, you may have playback issues, but my player even plays xsvcd. try this first.

    compliant for NTSC is 29.97fps. mpeg1, 352x240.
    audio mpeg1 layer II. 44khz

and i think that is about it.

NTSC VCD"s can also use the Frame rate of 23.976fps also....
Nero will tell you what is wrong with the File...
It will tell you if the audio has the wrong Bitrate or sample Rate and it will tell you if there is No Preper VCD header on the File by saying that "The Stream Encodeing is Not valid for (S)VCD...If it says that then it just means there is no VCD header on the File which you can either just Burn anyways or run the File through Tmpgenc"s Merge & Cut" with the "Video-CD" setting selected from the dropdown menu...
