How did you used VCDGear? Its use is this: when yu start, you are on the vide-CD scree, which is good. From that screen you can select, to extract the 'riff file with header' from that CD: 1) DAT --> MPEG if you have, on your CD-ROM unit, a VCD (you need to load D:\MPEGAV\AVSEQ01.dat) 2) MPEG --> MPEG if you have, on your CD-ROM unit, a SVCD (you need to load D:\MPEG2\AVSEQ01.mpg). 3) I never extracted a movie from an image, because I 'mount' them with Alcohol 120% on E: and I do the 2 methods above mentioned on e:, but there's also the command cue/bin --> MPEG. I assumed that it created a true mpeg , if you have a VCD, othewise (if it doesn't do so) you have to make it on 2 steps: a1) cue/bin --> DAT and a2) DAT --> MPEG if you have a VCD image (A), or b1) cue/bin --> MPEG and b2) MPEG --> MPEG if you have a SVCD image, where the first command cue/bin --> (*) (* = dat, mpeg) extracts the 'riff file' from the image, and the 2nd command converts the 'riff file' to a 'true mpeg'. If you do so, you extract the files for the 2 CD-Rs (which, before converting them, could also be joined).
Hi..am newbie here...I have problem on converting mpegav -> avseq01dat file to mpeg on my cd-r. Below is the steps and message shown when I coverting the file :- 1) I open vcd gear, and go to dat-->mpeg. 2) I click on load the file from cd-r : D:\MPEGAV\AVSEQ01.DAT 3) After load, I save it into the same cd-r, then the message appear as this " There may not be enough space to write the output file. Continue? So, I click "Yes". 4) Then it load abt a second and a message appear "Unable to create output file". Now I can't convert my file avseq01 in cd-r to mpeg to view into my video cd player.
