    Hello,

I've been trying to copy a VCD. I first used the VideoCD function in NERO and got the following error messages for each of the folders on the VCD (in both PAL and NTSC modes, though I haven’t a clue as to the difference):

    CDI FOLDER:

One or more files could not be added to a compilation.

The file 'D:\Cdi\CDI_IMAG.RTF' is invalid - need MPEG-1 which was encoded for Video-CD:
    audio: 44.1 kHz; stereo; 224 kbit/s
    video: 352 x 240 / 29.97 Hz or 352 x 240 / 23.976 Hz or 352 x 288 / 25 Hz
    The following problems were found:
    - stream encoding which is invalid for a [Super] Video CD
    - no video
    - no audio

The file 'D:\Cdi\CDI_TEXT.FNT' is invalid - need MPEG-1 which was encoded for Video-CD:
    audio: 44.1 kHz; stereo; 224 kbit/s
    video: 352 x 240 / 29.97 Hz or 352 x 240 / 23.976 Hz or 352 x 288 / 25 Hz
    The following problems were found:
    - stream encoding which is invalid for a [Super] Video CD
    - no video
    - no audio

The file 'D:\Cdi\CDI_VCD.APP' is invalid - need MPEG-1 which was encoded for Video-CD:
    audio: 44.1 kHz; stereo; 224 kbit/s
    video: 352 x 240 / 29.97 Hz or 352 x 240 / 23.976 Hz or 352 x 288 / 25 Hz
    The following problems were found:
    - stream encoding which is invalid for a [Super] Video CD
    - no video
    - no audio

I received the same messages for the EXT and VCD folders.

Strangely, the Mpegav folder originally had error messages too in NERO, but now that’s cleared up, seemingly on it’s own.

Following advice from this site, I downloaded TMPGEnc 2.5, thinking to re-encode the Mpegav folder (this was while it was still giving a problem). I of course, then found that the other folders mentioned above now have a problem.

I used the guide from this site, and I browsed for the files, which are on a VCD. Locating them, I tried to bring them into the software, and nothing happens. The browse window just stays open as if there are no files to open. I then thought perhaps I need to copy them to my HD, (which originally I tried to do when I first used NERO, and the Mpegav folder would not copy, only giving a message to the effect of: “Cyclic Redundancy”, though now the folder did copy over and trying NERO again I ended up with a VCD that has audio and video out of sync about 10 minutes into the VCD.)

I’m sure I’m not missing any steps, but I can’t get the files on the VCD to open in TMPGEnc, which now seems my only hope to make a copy of this……please help!!!!

    Regards,

    Paul

if you just want to make a copy , do you have a burner and a reader, or is it a combo drive, if you have seprate drives just do a disk copy, with nero.
