vcd to avi?

    i want to know if it possible to convert vcd to avi.is there such program that would do that can u please help me thanx.

    Why avi?
    Vcd quickly and easily becomes an mpg.

    Extract dat to mpg using VCDGear, ISOBuster, etc.
    Open in VirtualDub(Mod), save as avi, selecting audio and video compression first or you will end up with raw video and PCM audio.
    Also keep in mind that the VCD will have a non 1:1 PAR, so either resize (not recommended to use VDub filters, use AVISynth) or use say XviD and set the PAR accordingly.

    mencoder would also work.
