vcd to dvd

    i have a lot of vcds but when i try to use tmpeg to convert them to dvd format it does not recognise the .dat file have i to create them back to avi if so how do u do that

    You have to change the MPEG1 files (or VCD) to DVD compliant MPEG2 with software such as Main Concept MPEG Encoder.
    Then use TMPGEnc DVD Author to make VOB/BUP/IFO files.

    .dat file is not DVD compliant , you might want to read up on this subject a bit ;-)
