Help, Just followed all instructions on these pages and ripped a dvd to vcd and the vcds wont play on my standalone dvd player! they play perfectly on my dvd rom!Help it took me hours!
Atleast according to VCDHelp's compatibility chart, pretty much all Samsung DVD players should support VCDs http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdplayers.php?DVDname=&DVDselect=Samsung&Submit=Search&Search=Search Which CD-R burning software did you use? Check the VCD on your PC and make sure the MPEG video file is in the MPEGAV -folder. It should be called AVSEQ00.DAT, if the VCD was burned properly.
I to have a Samsung and I found that Vivastar discs from Argos or princo discs work all the time, vivastar are cheap as well.
Hi, I use nero 5.5 software so it should burn correctly, i set it to vcd.Would using a cdrw make any difference? Thanks guys
CD-RWs should work. Atleast my Pioneer handles them beautifully. Have you tried playing the VCD on a PC CD-ROM drive using eg. PowerDVD?
funkam: Did you remember to finalize the CD? Otherwise 99% of the players wont recognize it. And you should always burn 4x or slower.
Maybe your DVD-player just doesn't support VCD then.. There might be a test VideoCD ISO image around somewhere, but I'm not aware of any at the moment.
It's a CD image that you burn to a CD using your CD burning software's "burn image" feature. The test CD is 100.00% compliant VCD, by burning it and testing it with your DVD player, you can find out if your DVD player supports VCD or not. If it plays, it supports -- if it doesn't play, your player doesn't support VCD.
Do i need nero mpeg2 plug in would this make any difference.Would they work if I used this? Not really sure what it does but just a thought thanks Funkam
No one needs Nero's MPEG plugin. You download the image and select "Burn image" from Nero's menu and simply burn it to your CD, use less than 4x burning.
hey all i just want to know if anyone can tell me when i try to decode an AVI file into mpeg using tmpgenc.... it gives me "an error occurred when audio was decoded"
