Hello everyone, I am really new at this. I have burned a VCD and it plays fine on my PC however, I can not get this VCD to play on any of my dvd players yet all of my dvd players play mpeg files. So what's going on?

Hey Shoey, I used DeCrypter to rip the DVD, FlaskMPEG .78, and TMPGE to split the MPEG file to two CD-R. Then I burned it with NTI CD Maker. I don't see a PBC function on my DVD player. I have a Sylvania DVD/VHS combo player that I use the most. So far, every ripped DVD that I have burner has played on this player. To be honest Shoey, I have no idea what speed I burned the CD-R. I know that I followed a variety of instructions from each software package and none of them mentioned select speed so whatever the default is that's what I used.

May I recommend you try DVD2SVCD using Canopus ProCoder 1.5 to convert to MPEG1(VCD)? I really don't know why your backups won't play as previous backups you burned worked fine. I own a dvd burner now but have countless SVCD(MPEG2) dvd movie backups and I had great success using CCE (Cinema Craft Encoder 2.5& 2.66) and Canopus ProCoder 1.5. I'll move this thread over to VCD& SVCD forum so someone can further assist you m8.

    Shoey :)
