does anyone know how to convert .vcr files to .vob,s? my Nero premium doesnt want any thing to do with them. the compression ratio on those .vcr files are really compressed and they are outstanding quality sound and picture wise.but when i go to convert them to dvd, its a different story.. i even tried the windows movie maker, and it just simply hates my .vcr files i am making with my ATI rage card..any links or ideas would SEVERELY be appreciated :)

I can't offer much help on this either, sorry. However, I did notice that my .vcr files seem to be just pointers to the real files. E.g., 42KB .vcr file for a video capture I know is much larger. I used to use the older version of ATI's multimedia centre, which seemed more straightforward.

Have you tried going into the ATI software and just choosing a custom format for the digital vcr? I seem to recall you could select to output to avi, or whatever. Or, maybe do a search of your hard drive right after you capture some .vcr files. Perhaps a search of files created in the last while (e.g., by date, time, video criteria) would show you where the 'real' files are stored. Opening the .vcr file in notepad just shows jibberish. I was thinking it might show the path to the 'real' file...
