hi all first of i got a dvdrw duel format drive and every time i insert a very scrached disc my whole computer freezes the music the mouse the keybaord everything it is driving me crazy. it happens with cd-r's and cd-rw's and i tryed with my scrached dvd disk and workes perfect. it didnt happen before olny when i installed nero 6 about a week ago it happened. thank guys!
I think that I am having a difficult time understanding. I insert my very scratched disc, and the whole computer freezes. I tried my scratched DVD, and works perfect. Terminology may be the problem. When referencing DVD's, it is called a disc. When referencing a CD, it is called a disk. (And never the twain shall meet.)
Maybe those cd discs are FUBAR! Since you stated it started after downloading nero,use the nero cleantool 6 to completely rid all remnants of nero off your pc. You can get it here: http://ww2.nero.com/us/Nero_6_Clean_Tool.html On nero,there is a packet on there called INCD. That packet can do some screwy things to us,so it is recommended to leave out that packet.
