hi i have a rca vga (15 pin) cord and i connected it to my lenovo g530 and when i connected it to my laptop and then my tv i hear a sound from my tv but it doesnt show video or play the audio help please
okie cokie i will give this a try, does your telly have a standard vga port on it? if so the easiest way for you to obtain sound and display is for you to use vga to vga conector from pc to telly for display and an S/PDIF to S/PDIF cable (looks like earphone and stereo jacks) from your earphone port on your laptop to the appropriate port on your telly. Here is why. Computers have two seperate systems - one for video and one for sound. The only way to get both from one port is HDMI. hope this helps, let me know how you get on.
k im not worried much bout the sound then but still the video doesnt work and the connection im using is a rca vga so it has the red white and yellow connection
open up display settings and check youe external moniter is running at the same resolution as your laptop, this has been a known issue when using rca cable. let me know how you get on.
have you tried using a different rca cable or telly, 1 or the other may be at fault, failing that check to see you have no vga issues in device manager. (if you do post them here) let me know how you get on.
If you open device manager and there are no yellow "!" then it wont be that. Right click my computer choose properties switch to hardware tab and click device manager. have you updated your video drivers recently?
unfortunatlt it seems a dead end has been reached. do you have another laptop to test the cable with? from the sounds of it i dont think this cable has any life in it. also just been reading alot of people are having trouble connecting lenovo laptops to tv's with rca cable. so it dont look good i'm afraid.
yeah that sucks well the people that i bought it from are gonna test another one and send me that one hopefully it will work thanks for trying to help me though
no problem, just a shame it don't work. Let me know if the problem persists with the new cable too. Pegasis
