i have an acer aspire M1641 and im having problems, if i plug the standard vga cable into my pc then into my tv the tv says out of range then sometimes my desktop will appear then dissapear, and sometimes it will appear but the resolution is terrible i cannot even see the start button to go and configure settings. Although when i put an HDMI lead into my pc then into my tv i have no problems at all i get full screen and no " out of range " message ??? can anyone think of a solution or have any idea what the problem is ??? i,ve tried the vga cable in another pc and no problem and also tried the other pc with this tv via the vga cable and no problem ????

Probably because the HDMI cable supports EDID properly and VGA doesn't. You need to set the correct resolution for your TV as it will be lower than the resolution on your PC/laptop monitor.
