You would use a stereo RCA to mini male cable, like this: http://www.amazon.com/HOSA-CMR206-Stereo-Mini-Y-Cable/dp/B000068O33 Hook up the left and right rca audio plugs to your VCR and the mini plug to the line-in of your sound card. Use whatever audio software you like to record from the line-in of your sound card.
I've used this method but the sound is very distorted, even after lower the levels etc. I want to copy the audio on my computer from a (commercial) VHS concert tape that I own. Is this due to copy protection??? Looking at the recorded waveform the right channel is completely distored and the left is slightly so. BTW the I can record on to audio cassette fine. Can anyone help me? Thanks jules.
