vhs avi to dvd

    i am converting a vhs avi to dvd the tape is verry good quailty just wondering will the quailty be just as good when the conversion is done i am converting right now as i am typing on another system has anyone else done this and how did it turn out? i am using a unbranded media so if is is poor quailty it will be no big loss just time. anny and all input is wellcome thanks, thank you for your input the movie came out real good i used the program vso dvixtodvd the latest version does a good job

    your qaulity should be about the same provided you captured at full resolution 720 x 576 (PAL) or 720 X 480 (NTSC) and if capturing in avi didnt use lossy compression if you must use compression use huffyuv if you captured in mpeg-2 then compression isnt an issue
    Unbranded media is usually a bad idea the quality reliabilty and life span of the dvd is allways suspect follow the golden rules in my sig
