I've been stumbling through on my own trying to figure out how to copy some of my old VHS tapes to DVD. The main problem I seem to be facing is video quality on my burned DVD's. I've looked through the guides and don't see anything specifically concerning VHS to DVD unless I'm missing something. If anyone can point me to a guide I'd appreciate it. The suffering video quality, if someone would like to address that is this: as the VHS is being captured the video is a little jittery and it all flashes a bit. They are 15 year old VHS tapes but they are in mint condition as they have been played very little. It's watchable but not very fun. Thanks.... !

Have you cleaned the VCR's heads? Are you copying from VHs to a DVD recorder or a computer? I've recently copied 20 year old VHS onto DVD using a DVD recorder and the quality is fine.

Duh... no, I didn't clean heads first. Maybe I should try that. I'm copying from VCR to PC via some sort of capture card and using Power Producer Gold software. I'm still looking for a guide to assist me in understanding all this stuff however. Thanks!
