Hello, Can anyone tell me the best way with the best quality to copy all my home made vhs tapes to dvd? I am running windows xp home edition with a pentium 4 2.8 overclocked to a 3.4 and 1 gig memory. I have internal dvd burner and 2 different capture cards. winfast tv 2000 video capture and V stream 2388x video capture. I seem to get a better quality out of the V stream but the picture skips every now and then to catch up when it is burned on disc. I do alot of video taping and use av input in the cards and need to do alot of editing at times. can someone please help me with the best software with the best quality is. Thank you for your time.
You should be able to use your video capture cards. I'd be willing to be they came with software. You'd need to hook up you VCR to your capture cards and play the video(s). As they play, they'll be captured by the program and you can save it for editing once done. What software do you already have if any? I'm sure we'd be able to help you better and cheaper for you. If you have nothing, I could make recommendations.
I have winfast and power producer. Winfast has horrible quality and power producer is jumpy I know that there is better out there, just don't know which one would be better. I know i can't get it perfect but would like to get it close as possible. Thank you for your time.

Hi there, I have done that computer video capture thing and was very unimpressed with the results.Took a lot of time and a heap of memory and the quality was not the best.I have now found the ultimate! Go and buy a hard drive DVD recorder. I bought the LG RH 7823W Div X DVD recorder with 160GB hard drive.It is absolutely fantastic!!! Just hook on your VCR , play and hit record on the DVD recorder. You can record directly to DVD recordable disc or record to hard drive and then do fantasically quick editing on the machine and then select either 1 hour , 2 hours , 4 or 6 hours recording quality.The machine also supports dual layer discs and + - ...almost anything except DVD Ram discs. I love it!!
@wwjdcgh So you already have the hardware, right? I'm not sure if cost is an issue with you or not but [bold]Adobe Premiere 1.5[/bold] is a great tool for everything you say you need; capturing, editing, etc. The best free quality free program would probably be [bold]Windows Movie Maker[/bold]. WMM is a part of XP with free downloads on the Microsoft site. Learning to use it is easy and if you need a tutorial one is offered on the Microsoft site as well; as is every program they offer.
i also have ulead 8.0 but i want other opinions on which is the best software, it doesnt matter how much it cost just want best software for the final product
