minion or whomever has the ability to understand my problem, i want to transfer vhs to dvd, my thoughts are that i could buy a converter(for instance a px m402u)doanload to hard sic, use shrink to remove macrovision and copywrite if it has some, and then burn with nero to dvd, i have not been able to find a diffinitive guide, probably because i am a littl e sow as to understanding what im looking for. most of you guys have far more experience, but i hope i am learning, can you tell me where to get a guide with recommendations for hardware etc.? Thanks

here is what I use and it works just fine.I just have a 40 dollar capture card and a s-video cable and a mini y adapter and stream video in dvd mode up to 2 hours for a full 4.3 gig disc, split the sound to two channels using the y adapter and then burn with nero vison express under the create video option and create a menu along with chapters.so here is what I use.I have no drop frames whatsoever and I have back up out of print movies like backdraft and others. Can record HDTV mpeg1,2,4.

I figured out how to do it myself through trial and error. Most store won't buy VHS tapes and VHS machines will be phased out this year.
