    Hello All

Sorry if this is a repeated question but i couldn't find the answer in these forums to my specific enquiry.

I want to transfer my camcorder vhs tapes to my pc, i have a single USB 2 lead with composite (red, white, yellow)connections which i can use to connect to my camcorder to my pc.

1, What is the best software to use?

2, Do i need any additional card, i.e. tv card or will just the usb 2 connection be ok?

I'm running windows XP Home Edition.

    Many Thanks for any replies

I use Intervideo windvd creator. It came with my usb capture device. I've also used ulead videostudio 9. Both work well & it all depends on which capture device I use. I've got the usb one & a hauppage wintv pvr 150 (internal). Hope this helps you out.

Yeah i'm using the Ulead software that came with the USB device, in the capture menu, what format in the drop down is the best to save the analogue video? I've been using the 'save as DVD' selection but for a 40 minute video the DVD file size is 2.5GB? seems a large file for such a short length of video.
Is there a better format to save to which doesn't create such a large file, i was hoping to transfer 3-4 45minute camcorder tapes onto 1 DVD.

    Cheers for the reply

I use dvd format. I know the size will be huge, but once you convert to dvd, the size will adjust.
