I have recently had trouble with audio video sync when trying to convert certain Divx movies to vcd these are the steps i have taken and problems encountered

1 I have opened virtual dub, there is a pop up saying that vdub has encountered a improper vbr audio encoding source and it will rewrite the audio header with standard CBR values, it asks me if i would like to continue to do this, I CLICK ON NO as i dont know what effect this would have

2 i continue on anyway. I put video on direct stream copy and audio 44100, no compression and full processing mode. I then extract the audio as i have read in tutorials by clicking on save WAV and it does this sucessfully

3 i open TMPEG and use my original divx video source and the seperate WAV source and then i encode.

4 it finishes encoding i open the file and it runs perfectly for about 15 mins and the audio just cuts out?????

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening.... only when i have the VBR audio prob in Virtual Dub, any help in fixing this problem would be much appreciated

    Thanks

I didn't see this in your steps but have you just tried encoding the file using the .avi as the video and audio source?

I usually extract the .wav if there's a problem with the lazy way first.

Personally, I find TMPGEnc and MainConcept can be quite bad for sync errors through its internal muxing.

For problems like these, I just use ProCoder and syncing problems are gone.
