I am trying to capture video from the TV, but with every video capture software program that I use, the video stays balck and white. Quality is good, and so is sound, but there is no quality. I am using an ASUS AGP v7700 GTS 32MB on Windows 98. I have tried ASUS Digital VCR, and a few others. Can anybody help???

Make sure your settings are correct (PAL, NTSC or SECAM). From which source are you trying to capture? Are you using S-Video or composite to capture? I'm not familiar with the board you're using, so try to bear with me =)

I am trying to capture from VCR to PC. I have tried both the S-Video and Composite connections, but they seem to do the same thing. I'm pretty sure that I have set the capture settings right (to PAL as i'm in Australia), but still no luck. Any ideas? Would it be the Video Card that is producting the Black and White, or the software that i'm using? Do you know of any good software that woudl be good for this type of capture??

Unless you have a SVHS VCR, you should stick to composite. It sounds like a driver related problem. No matter which software you use for capturing, they all use the same capture drivers to connect to the board and read the video stream. You might want to check if Asus has new drivers available for the board, or a new version of Asus Digital VCR.

Thanks for the help. I'll give it a look, and see if I can find some updated drivers. Ta.
