Just a question ? If I'm using a capture card or USB box/device to archive old vhs movies how does macrovision affect this if at all ? or can I just make a iso image and decrypt it with DVD decrypter or something like that. ? tHANKS GUYS!

If these are Retail VHS tapes they will usually have Macrovision Copy protection...
The only real way to Overcome this is either to have a Capture device that doesn"t detect Macrovision of which there are quite a few or to get a Video Stabilizer which is a device that Connects between your VCR and your Capture Card that removes the Macrovision from the Video Signal....

Macrovision will generally cause the Captured Image to flash from Dark to Bright and Can sometimes cause a Distorted Image or even a Black and White Image so if you aren"t haveing this problem then you you Probably aren"t haveing a Macrovision problem.....

Supposedly the "Hauppaggue WinTV PVR-150/250" cards and Capture devices made by "ADS" Do Not detect Macrovision and devices Like the "Canopus ADVC-110/300" have a Trick for disableing Macrovision detection and there are Other ones that do not detect macrovision.....

    Cheers
