I have a ATI 9800 Pro AGP card. It works fine on the desktop and everything else I do. I just started Halo on the card and everything was completely pixely and distorted graphics. I quit the game and everything is fine again. I swapped cards with a Nvidia 5500 and I get a UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME on bootup, occasionally it boots. Is my card bad or is it something else in the computer? Should I just reformat, there's not much on the computer to back up, it'll take about 2 hours to pull off a reformat and complete restore.

Can you offer a screenshot of what HALO looked like on your comp?

and are your video cards plug and play? you could of screwed up a driver.

I just did a reformat to fix my C: partition as being logical instead of primary. Upon reformatting I installed NFSU2 instead. The drivers are plug and play, the video card was automatically installed upon fresh install.

That's medium low graphics settings at 800x600. I used to run it fine at 1280x1024 at maximum settings.

Microsoft. It's the default driver that installed with the OS.

I tried those drivers and right now I'm running the computer at 4bit color and 800x600 resolution.
The Catalyst Control Center is not supported by the driver version of your enabled graphics adapter. Please update your ATI graphics driver, or enable your ATI adapter using the display manager.

Properties of Windows shows Plug and Play Monitor on RADEON 9800 SERIES
EDIT: I installed drivers again sepratly and I'm back to a normal resolution.
The game still doesn't work though. The screenshot below is of everything on maximum except Anti Aliasing which is off.
