Hello all, I have a question. I have a cd-r that has a slideshow on it but it has an exe file that needs to load and run the slide show so my question is how can i get this to play on a dvd player? Do I have to burn it live from a tv dvd recorder or is there a way to live record on my computer as the video is running because i think this is the only way i can get it to play on a dvd player.

List the folders and files that you actually have on the cdr. That way more people would be able to help.

here are the folders: a "data" folder with all of the pictures and music to play on the slideshow, an "image archive" folder with just the pictures... then there is an autorun and PhotoShowPlayer.exe(microflash media player 7)Any help would be great thanks for asking me to put more info.

I tried to capture video (with easy video capture) as it plays on my desktop but i don't have enough resouces to have it perform well. it is very very glitchy.

I was thinking maybe I could network my computer to my labtop. and have the slideshow running on the labtop and then record from my computer the images and sound that are coming from the labtop. Is this possible and how. that way the slideshow will not glitch since the labtop will only be running the slideshow.

You can of course try any ideas you come up with. But one more thing for me: what are the file formats for the orginal picture and sound files (e.g. jpg, wma)?

Well, if you have the picture and sound files intact, then you may try use programs like Nero (Nero Vision Express) to re-compile the project and burn to DVD. It's basically a drag and drop operation, quite easy.
    Good luck!

I have the nerovision express2, but i don't understand what you mean. I have made the contents into an .iso before and it won't play in the dvd player. The problem is i have this project from a friend who wants me to convert her stuff so it can play on a dvd player. she gave me a CD that has: "PhotoShowPlayer.exe" , "data (has the pictures and mp3's in it)" , "autorun". see she has her pictures do the animations that she wants done using the program "photoshowplayer.exe" this program needs to load on the computer to play. so making this into dvd compatible wouldn't work because a dvd player can't load an .exe file. Also i have a program that captures video that is playing on my desktop screen, but my cpu goes way up so it glitches the slideshow when recording. Do have any more ideas i really appreciate your help. thank you!

No, what I'm suggesting is perhaps you can compile the slide show with the original jpegs and mp3s all over again and burn the project onto a dvd. Now let me explain this step by step:
    1) copy all original jpegs onto the harddisk under a new folder (e.g. picture)
    2) copy the mp3s onto the harddisk under a new folder (e.g. sound)
    3) run NVE, you'll notice there are two square windows on top, and one film-like window at bottom. Click the first small box on top of the right window to 'display pictures'. Then click the first small box at bottom of right window to 'browse media'. Go to the folder containing the jpegs, and add them to the right window.
    4) Now click the first small box on top the bottom film-like window to 'show pictures'. Then drag and drop the jpegs one by one in the desired order from the top right window to the square inside the bottom film-like window. You'll notice that an empty square would be added automatically after the first one was filled.
    5) After you're done with the jpegs, click 'browse media' again and get the mp3s onto the right window.
    6) Click the second small box on top of the lower film-like window to switch to 'show audio'. Then drag and paste the mp3s to the bottom film-like window.
This is basically what you can do to compile a slide-show with NVE. Try to see if it works first. Then you can experiment your own more to add more fancy things to the compilation.
    Good luck!

Thank you very much for your in depth tutorial I will give that a go when I have time to compile it. The only thing that sucks is that the lady i'm doing the project for probably doesn't want me to re-compile something different because she has it animate the way that she wants it for her daughters wedding. But your information is very useful for my own right, Thank you very much. I will try it out for my own pics I didn't even know Nero had this option. I like Nero. Peace out.
