video converter help

    I need a video converter to convert an AVI to WMV without losing the quality of the original, all the converters i found lower the quality drastically. please help me, i don't care if it's free.

    Are you using XP or Vista?
    What about the built-in MS Movie Maker ?

    Of course. Drag the movie to the "collection" window.
    Drag it to the "movie" timeline (below).

    File/save movie.
    Follow the prompts, and choose an appropriate output format.
