I am having a problem with little video glitches in EVERY movie I back up. This is the situation I have used about every program there is and read every thread and Im still having problems. I have used shrink dvd x copy, express, and plat dvd stripper, ripper blah blah but what gets me is I noticed that I even get them when I use dvd decrypter and smart ripper and this is before I even put them to disk. I can use smart ripper or dvd decrypter and then watch the vobs on my harddrive and there is the glitches. I have also stopped all of my startup and programs in windows so that the ripping is the only thing using cpu becuase I thought maybe it was an issue with programs taking up resources and it didnt help. I also updated firmware btw my burner is a A05. Ive even went as far as to take off any program I didnt just have to have on my comp just to be safe and still its glitching. So I know its not a burning issue since they are present on my hard drive but I dont know what else I can do. Please help spending every weekend for a month reading message boards and buying new programs is killing me.

just reading your post makes my eyes hurt.

are the video glitches pixelation? What movies are you trying to backup?

you did a unccompressed rip of the movie, looked at the vob on the computer and saw "glitches"?

You are going to have to explain your process a little better--how are you ripping, compressing and burning? What media (type and brand) are you using. What is your burning program?

    What are your hardware specs?

    Im using a Pent 4 2.66 GHz 1GB ram.
The glitches are extreme pixalation not like pixalation from compression more like blocks that will appear or lines kinda like a tv with its horizontal messed up. They usually only last for a second but sometimes its only one or 2 a disk sometimes its plauged with them.
Ive had them at least once on every one of the 30 disks Ive backed up.
Ive tried about every type of program as well.
I have done a number with the Xcopy and Plat also using Shrink 3.0b (with and without compression) and some with Dvd Stripper. All had the glitches.
I usually use the latest DVD Decrypter to rip and I have also used Smart Ripper and then the latest Nero to burn or I use the Image tool.I try to burn without compression if possible because at first I thought that could be my problem.
The main thing that concerns me is I have the glitches before I burn the disk. I wanted to see if it was a burning problem or a ripping problem so I ripped a DVD with decrypter and watched it in power DVD;sure enough it had the glitches on my hard drive. So its not a burning/media problem.
Ive also had them with every ripping tool Ive used before mentioned.
I even formatted my hard drive last night and only installed DVD Decrypter and Nero to see if maybe I had a program conflict and still got them.
I also paused my task manager and removed most of my start menue using Msconfig in case it was stuff running in the background that was doing it.
I also tried using Force ASPI.
Not sure what else to do; any ideas I will try.

It looks like you have checked most of the possible software problems. I would start looking for a possible connection or hookup problem. Check or replace the 80 wire connector cable. I would do the A05 to motherboard 1st. Then if that doesn't work change it with the Hd to motherboard connector. If you have a video card, make sure its seated in the slot properly. Like you said, if the problem is there off the HD, its not burning or media related. Has to be Hardware related. Jerry
