OK. So I have a video (.avi) and a subtitle file for the video (.srt). I tried to hard encode the subtitles into the video using virtualdubmod, but every time I start the process, I end up getting this really huge file. The original video is about 700mb, but when I add the subs, the video gets to be about 10gb for just 10 minutes. I have hard encoded videos with subtitles before, and they usually come out smaller than the original video, so I don't know why this is different. Can someone help please?
You didn't choose 'Direct Stream Copy' under 'Video'. Or, you didn't select a compressor (Video > Full Processing Mode > Compression). If the codec isn't listed, you can probably download it. Select the same compression as the source (File > File Information)
