If I transfer my DV tape footage to DVD by connecting my camera to my TV set top DVD recorder(with RCA leads), will I experience any loss of video quality?? This has to be done in real time of course.

Its easier to import the footage into Studio 9 from dvd rather than using my capture card.

Otherwise I would buy a mini dvd disc camcorder.

    cheers

Yes, You would loose some quality (It would be better to Connect the DV Camcorder to the DVD Recorder useing the DVD Recorders DV Firewire input then there is no Loss of Quality from the Transfer)But if you Transfered the Footage to your PC useing a Firewire Port then there would be absolutly No Quality Loss....

If you used an analogue Capture card instead of Transfering it Via Firewire then you would Loose Quality so no matter which Method you use (DVD Recorder or PC) You should Allways connect the DV Camcorder useing it"s Firewire Output because this is a Purely Digital Data Transfer with no Loss of Quality....

    Cheers
