I just started trying to backup dvds to divx, and I've hit a snag. I've been using the guide supplied in the guide section of the site and for the most part, things have run smoothly. However when the conversion occurs in virtualdub, the video goes monochrome and is diagonally skewed, and looks "wrapped around". How can I resolve this? I should point out that I'm using divx4 as the codec for conversion.
DivX 4.x? Update to 5/6 or better yet switch to XviD. Even DivX 3 was regarded as giving better quality than 4.x.
