whenever i playback a divx video, it plays perfectly for 2 to 3 minutes but once in a while the video speeds up for no reason at all. there are no sync problems with the audio, it just speeds up for a second and the audio skips ahead to catch up with it. it's not a cpu problem because i'm running a p4 1.8. i've tried all kinds of combinations of codecs and many different players..same result...any ideas? also..this speeding up does not happen in the same place twice so it's not an encoding problem.

Are you playing the DivX file burned to a cd-r or from your hard drive? I noticed when I play MPEG1/MPEG2/DivX, other movie formats when I "scroll" through the movie, sometimes it takes a little time to "catch up". In my experience with movie formats, I find it best (obviously) to play the file from the hard drive, rather than from any rom. If you dind't encode the movie file then it is possible the video is just a touch out of sync.
