    Hey guys,

Thanks so much for all the help last time with my dual layer DVD burning problems...

I'm hoping I can get some good advice on how to mark tracks when converting a VIDEO TAPE to DVD.

I'm using a Panasonic DMR-EX85 DVD Recorder, I have my VIDEO player (audio and video) plugged in the mono inputs at the front, it only gives me the option to record directly to DVD, I can't seem to save it to the hard drive for possible track marking etc.

So as it seems I have to burn to DVD direct from my VIDEO TAPE how can I mark the tracks ?
Is there a free and simple program I can use to re-burn the 1 track DVD and mark the tracks where I want them ?

    Thanks

    Hi.

Some of the DVD recorders automatically insert chapter markers every few minutes. Others allow for marking chapter prior to finalizing the disk. I'm not fanmiliar with yours.

Here's what I would do. Record your tape to a DVD RW. When finished, import your video to Nerovision Express or TMPGEnc DVD Author and insert the chapter markers, edit, and do menus if needed.

    Nerovision: http://www.nero.com (free trial)
    TMPGEnc DVD Author:
    http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/download/tda16.html
    http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/product/tda3.html

I prefer TMPGENC myself over NVE. Version 1.6 is fully functional in trial mode. I'm not sure whether version 3 is fully functional or not. They crippled version 2 and I assume they did the same with version 3 which is why I recommend trying version 1.6. The newer versions have more features though.
