I'm using Avex Converter Suite to transfer DVD's and WMV files to MP4s for my ipod. What's the difference between MP4 (mpeg4) and Mp4 (h264) files? These are both given as options when choosing what to convert the original file to. Any help that you guys can give would be great. Thank in advance!

they are different encode ways...h264 can support better quality..but the conversion speed may slower than mp4.

Thank you for the info. h264 is slower and less space, but which is the most recommemended file to transfer a WMV or DVD to: h264 or mpeg 4? Is h264 more compressed, but better quality?

h264 is mp4 too..but just different encode ways..it will get better video quality but the conversion speed may be slower.
