I use convertxtodvd to write some episodes of Lost, but when I inserted the empty dvd it said : VIDEO_TS.IFO contains bogus data and can't be repaired!!!!!!! Could anyone tell me what that is and how fix it?!?!!? I would appreciate any help!
convetXToDVD is a conversion program to take different formats and make it DVD Compliant so you can burn it to a blank DVD and watch on a player! if you ripped the episodes of your LOST DVD and then use convertxtodvd to write some episodes it's looking at the IFO of the DVD and sees that you changed it or something like that because you are only putting SOME episodes on there...... IFO normally refers to a file on DVD-Video disc and stands for InFOrmation. While the main content of DVD-Video disc are the VOB files which contain the actual MPEG-2 audio, video and subtitle streams, the IFO files provide information for DVD player where DVD-Video disc's chapters start, where certain audio tracks are located, etc.. So if you changes it in any way the program is telling you that it's bogus now. The IFO doesn't have the correct information to run the DVD and the structure changed. And since you're really not needing to convert the files to DVD compliant file since you are working with VOBs..... then why don't you use a program like Shrink or Nero REcode to do the episode DVD? here are some guides for episode/multiple titles for you: guide for DVDRemake for merging 2 dvds or flipper disks: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/201805 guide for Nero Recode .. multiple movies: http://www.dvd-guides.com/content/view/44/59/ guide for shrink ... multiple movies: http://webpages.charter.net/bacitup/TheG...VD Shrink.pdf guide for DVD2ONe: http://www.dvd-guides.com/content/view/29/59/
I am not sure if I explained what happened in the right way. The episodes are video files (not dvd)and I used convertxtodvd so that I can write them on a dvd, and after converting the files... they couldn' t be written on the dvd because of bogus data.....e.t.c. Should I still use Nero recode??? Thanks for helping me out.
ok..... so these episodes are different video files! ok.... it's not an episode DVD! what format are these video files? and are these files downloaded from the internet?
its HDTV Xvid-XOR. So (as usual) I used convertxtodvd. they are from the internet. It took me a week......
the reason why I am asking you where you got your files from is that downloading from the internet doesn't always come out perfect. Sometimes files can be corrupt or incomplete and when you try to convert them you get errors. Also sometimes the files are downloaded correctly but the files themselves are passed along with all it's damaged parts! and therefore the error messages when trying to use that file in programs. Just something to think about. I'm sorry it took a week or so for you to download these files and you're not getting what you wanted. hate when that happens. I don't think it's the program ....... what version of ConvertXToDVD do you have ..... the up-to-date version is: 2.2.3.258
version 2.2.2.256! I tried to convert 5 episodes, maybe thy were too meny... I m trying now one of the episodes to see what will happen! Also I don't know why but I use Bsplayer pro and now instead of seeing that round blue bsplayer sign its black!!!!And I thought that I ve solved all my problems.... spending hours searching...etc...
update your ConvertXToDVD to the newer version. does this mean that your icon for this program is not showing correctly? maybe you have something else going on with your computer than you think that is causing problems with other programs, too. when was the last time you cleaned out your computer and defragged? I clean the registry using CCleaner (it's a free registry cleaner) found here: http://www.ccleaner.com/download then defrag your computer and reboot.... your computer should be running much better after all of this has been done and even some things will be corrected, too! There are plenty of other tools that you can use to help keep your computer running free and clean like you just took it out of the box! Just to mention some very useful programs that I have and use and my computer is always running like I just hooked it up: CCleaner Diskeeper AVG Anti spyware Evidence Eleminator XPSmoker RegCure RegSupreme Pro StartUp Organizer The Ultimate Troubleshooter PC Booster Security Task Manager SmitfraudFix ERUNT/NTREGOPT I run most of these programs at least once a week because DVD recording and downloading adds too many files and excessive stuff onto the computer waisting space and inhibiting Windows from working properly or just cluttering things up. with these programs my machine is always running at it's best and without conflicts so I am able to do what I want to do without errors. And if I do get errors ..... it's from downloading corrupted files to begin with. I have yet to have a coaster due to any programing or conflicts with my computer since I joined Afterdawn and learned what's what.
Well, how did that happened? I used again convertxtodvd but with one episode and it worked just fine!?!?!? I also used ccleaner, many things...wre thrown away! I will find your other programmes as well. I sould use them once a week. You think I should know anything concerning these programmes? Thank u very very very much for your help.
read the programs help guides and make sure before you delete things.... like when you use Security Task Manager or Evidence Eleminator that you know exactly what you're deleting.
