You need to use a authoring program to convert your files into the proper DVD spec Video_TS folder.

There are tons of programs that will do it, just go to Best Buy or Comp Usa and look for Uleads DVD Movie Factory, or DVDiT, I believe Pinnacle also has one out, they are all around $50-$100.

    Tmpgenc DVD authoring.

    Converts AVI to DVD.
After that it creates VOB, BUP and IFO files to burn in a VIDEO_TS file onto DVD-r or +r.

Different product. What wizkid is talking about is the new DVD authoring sw from the people of TMPGEnc called 'TMPGEnc DVD Author', not a function/plugin of TMPGEnc Encoder.

It's got some nice features. Try downloading a demo:

    http://www.tmpgenc.net/download_files/TDA10422install-EN.exe

The usual 30-day demo period applies.

Open a UDF/ISO session in Nero. Create the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folder (in CAPS) in the root of the disc. Burn.

    Easy, huh?

I found that if the average bitrate of the miniDVD is too high, it upsets my DVD player. Probably doesn't like to spin the disc so fast. I keep it down to about 5Mbps average.

You need to be more specific than 'failed'. What error messages did you get?
