videos have audio, but black screen

Hi, can anyone help me.

All of a sudden any time i try to play a video file I would get audio but no video the screen is just black. I tried it on realplayer, mplayer, and windows media player all with the same results. I also tried to reinstall my k-lite codec pack and ffdshow(newest one) and still the same thing.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. thanks in advance.

I have the same problem. Suddenly, audio but no video when using Windows Media Player or Media Player Classic. Some files will still show video played through the DivX player though.

I also tried re-installing the k-lite codec pack as well as the VLC player. No video through the VLC player either.

If it can be related to recently installing a particular piece of software, a system restore to before that point might get it back.

 

Thanks for the tip. I did try that, but perhaps did not go back far enough.
