Don't proxy's get past this problem or does both your school and work get round proxy's? Cos i'm at skl in uk and their security is rubbish etc we constantly log on to find admin rights and w/e lmao but anyway...

    Can't you just use proxy?

I remember on the firefox plugin page a year ago or so. I saw a plug-in that bypassed the school blocking software somewere. So i saved that and firefox to my usb key. And in my Computer Design/Graphics class we have Admin rights but the rules are less restrictive. So I installed firefox to a desktop folder. Installed the plugin and copied the install folder to my 4gb network drive. Then whenever I logged on anywere I would just go to that folder and open firefox.exe no one ever knew. and what it hurt? nothing. Our school has the worst security. Symanted Antivirus password = symantec , admin rights = comm*****scho*** district *** (principals last name). I found that last one out at the end of the school year so never used it. But like I said our school security sucks.

Cool. I should look into it - see if the plugin still exsists! And our school's techy is an idiot - I know more about pc's than him lmao...
If you will, I'm one of the more trusted students in the skl (not a teachers pet lmao) and I can walk right into the room where the servers are and w/e and gather the latest passwords for our skl website sever etc etc :D

    lol

regarding school tech support ours is basically non-existent. and all my schools network hardware resides in the offices. just waiting for some idiot to mess with while hes waiting to talk to his dean/principal.

Lucky peeps, we have symantec security and when ever we try to install some thing "this operation has been cancelled due to restrictions on this computer"
    or some rubbish,

You copied the install folder to your network drive? Dont some programs need parts of the registry to work or something? Otherwise you could just copy program files off your computer to other computers....

    Justt a question.

Hah lol @billybob we used to get that message but we did some "handywork" and got rid of it lmao. And yes exactly we just use flash drives to put software on our skl's comps. It occasionally gets wiped in their best attempts but meh, we own that place!

    lol

Another proxy site that worked for me during my school days (last year) was http://www.megaproxy.com (just don't tell alot of people since it has it's limits).
I can't remember the rest, there was a site that had thousands, LITERALLY.

    JUST INFO...

How to Mask Your IP and Use Country Restricted Services

June 10, 2006 at 13:34 · Filed under Entertainment, Everything Else

If you want to watch ABC streaming TV episodes even if you don’t live in the US or see the Football Worldcup in the BBC Sport site, even if you don’t live in the UK - the next few steps will help you mask your IP by changing your default proxy to the correct country.

We always knew it was possible, but not that it’s this simple! This can probably help people who want to use different softwares and services online that are usually restricted to the locals and not only for just viewing the above online TV. This little IP and proxy tweak also makes your surfing much more secure and anonymous.

    1. In IE -> Choose Tools -> Choose Internet Options -> Go to Connections (tab) -> Press LAN Settings (button) -> mark the “Use a proxy server for your LAN…” -> In the IP Address field, enter the IP (use 206.107.155.137 for US services, 62.171.219.179 for UK services) -> In the Port field, enter the port (US - 8080, UK - 80) -> Press OK (button) -> Press OK again (button).

    2. For more IPs (proxy servers) from different countries, you can check out this site.
    http://www.publicproxyservers.com/page1.html

    3. If you’re having any problems, read the original, very detailed post here.
    http://www.ghacks.net/2006/06/06/how-to-view-the-football-worldcup-online/#more-542
If you know any other good location based sites or great services that you thought were restricted to your country until now, please comment and share them with us.

Just go to google and type in e-bypass and go to one of the sites and they have a search bar that you just type in whatever site you want to go to and unless your school or wherever you are knows about it it wont be blocked. http://ebypass.tripod.com/

Ok, I get really bored in my computer classes. I want to get youtube or myspace to kill time. Their proxy server is really hard to bypass. I went to several proxy sites to bypass the proxy:

If its just some random site that you want to go to (ex. not myspace, youtube, your email, etc.)I often use Google's "cache" feature to view the page. Example shown below. . .

So basically what I am doing is viewing a copy of the page directly from Google as if it was one of Googles own pages. Rarely does this "bypass" feature not work. Also if you use this feature the page you view is only as recent as the copy google has. So while a site like Afterdawn would be updated much more often then some your buddies homepage.
