I have QT 7.0.4 and I downloaded a very short funny kung fu avi. file that's about 3,000 kb large. I don't want to burn it or anything, but I do want to watch it. In QT, only audio runs with no video. I just purchased a imac 20" intel duo core and I'm surprised it couldn't play this. As you can tell, I'm pretty new to this type of issue so any help will be appreciated. Thx!

Download and install DivX 6 for Mac for Intel/PPC (http://labs.divx.com/node/157) and XviD
    Avi Import Preview4 intel (http://n.ethz.ch/student/naegelic/download/).

You can also download the nightly builds of VLC for MacOSX Intel
(http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/macosx-intel/). VLC plays almost any codec out there.
