    Hi
I've got a starview box at my current address. It works fine and I'm in a Virgin area with everything (net, phone and TV)

Anyway, I'm moving soon and it's not a Virgin area; there is just net and phone. Do I need to be in a TV area to take my starview box with me and for it to work?

    Thanks very much

You will of course need a signal from a provider to use any box.

Doesn't have to be virgin but you need a signal for the emulator to clear anything.

I see, is there any way of finding this out?

Would a bog-standard TV signal suffice?

Sorry about the questions, as you can tell I have no clue

No. That will not do. You need a cable or mmds service provider in your area for it to work.

also have a read of the link below where no more free tv is available
unless you get a 'starview.6' 'starview hd combo' or 'kryptview & Iconnector' all of these boxes need broadband to work,

    no bother mate ;)
just wanted him to know which areas were going down at the moment, so he does not wonder why/if his box does not work when he moves.
