Virgin Media will next month make standard-definition Sky Sports and Sky Movies available to its subscribers for less.

The new price list, which comes into force on 1 July, will see up to £9 a month knocked off the cost of Sky's channels delivered over VM's cable TV network.

Essentially, all subscribers will pay the same for single channels and collections, irrespective of which VM package they're on. Individual channels will cost £13.50 a month, down from between £22.50 and £16.50 a month.

Sky Sports collection will fall to £20.50 a month from between £24 and £20.50, and Sky Movies Collection to £19.50 from £26.50 to £25.50.

VM customers on the XL package will continue to pay the same for Collections as they did before. Ditto if they take Sky Sports and Sky Movies. Folk on M+ and L, however, will now pay £27.50 for the lot - £6 a month less than before. ®
