Virtual Dub problem

I know that this topic may not be appropriate in this section but mods, please just move it somewhere appropriate. Thank you.

Anyway, Am trying to combine avi files into one so that I could just burn it in a single dvd. However, whenever I append the second avi, I keep on getting an error message.



But before that, when I open the avi file, I got an error message as well.



This is the only movie that I could not append into one by using virtual dub. Any ideas or alternatives to put multiple avi files into one?

BTW, the movie that I was trying to append was cut into two parts so now, I have to append it into one so that I won't waste any dvd's

 

Try VirtualDubMOD - I think that can handles more bitrates/audio types etc than VirtualDub.

 

Ok. I'll let you know if VirtualDubMod will solve my problem

 

Ok, I tried using VirtualDubMod and it seems that it didn't work.

I first opened the avi and again, I got an error message saying:



Then when I try to append the second AVI I get an error message saying:



Any other ideas?

 

1. one at a time, load each video file into Virtualdub, choose audio fullprocessing mode, select a CBR audio format such as PCM, save WAV file.

2. Direct stream copy for video, WAV audio (your saved file) for audio.

3. Save new avi.

4. Now join avis.

If your DVD conversion software will convert the files, make 2 mpeg2 files and author the DVD with 2 chapters.

 

hey, its either no audio or WAV file. Can you kindly tell me what PCM and CBR stands for?

 

CBR means "Constant Bit Rate".
PCM means "Pulse Code Modulation". It is the standard form for digital audio in computers and the compact disc red book format.

What do you mean?

 

The easiest way i can think of is to decompress the audio in the 2 .avi halves with Decompress and then do the same as you were already trying to do.

The audio bitrates will now match.
