The problem is that i cant even open the video file i want. I get the error 'Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'XVID' (unknown)'.. yes the codec is installed. Im guessing the problem is probably obvious to someone.. ive only just started playing with video files the last few days. Anyway thanx in advance.
This might sound ridiculous but just because you are able to play an Xvid file doesn't mean you have an Xvid codec installed. Get the latest Xvid binary here: http://www.roeder.goe.net/~koepi/xvid.shtml
I have had this same Problem even when the XviD codec was Installed Properly and what I had to do was Install the FFDShow Decoder and then It would Work....Just a Suggestion.....
