    Guys,

I have been trying to back up a DVD (Minority Report) to DivX and have run into some problems. I've been following the guides here, but something is going haywire.

In VirtualDub where you go to split the avi file to burn it onto 2 CDs, I get an error message when loading the second-pass avi file from the avi import filter. It tells me that it's reconstructing missing index block. Whassup with that? I had to select the load option to let it rekey the whole file, which took hours, before I could get it to work and split the file. What went wrong? Thanks.

You can use 'AVI2vcd' for encoding as well as splitting the movie. But it needs uncompressed audio. The decompressing facility is available with the same software.Even 'TMPGEnc' can also be used to encode and split the movie to your specifications. The TMPGEnc does not require uncompressed audio.
