I have VirtualDub 1.5.3 install on my system and I have just tonight downloaded VirtualDubMod 1.5.1.1a and I am trying to use this guide http://www.afterdawn.com/articles/archive/divx_to_vcd_page_2.cfm to split the ac3 audio from a Xvid avi file so I can convert it to VCD. Problem is that there is no audio selection in the mod version of vdub! I have applied the suggested files that go along with the mod version of VirtualDub and I still have no audio selection next to video like in regular VirtualDub. That guide above specifically says use the mod version and open the audio menu and I don't have that! I downloaded it directly from the official website so I am not sure if I am just missing something or what. Any suggestions would be excellent!!!
Nevermind. Good old trial and error came to my rescue once again in the world of software. I just installed the modded version of VirtualDub to the same directory as VirtualDub and used the regular program along with the guide. That guide is excellent by the way if you want to convert DivX/XviD to VCD/SVCD when you have a ac3 audio layer. I spent a good 6 hours today wondering how the hell to get TMPGEnc to convert it. I learned quite a bit about editing today. Next time it will be a breeze... hopefully.
