Hello, I'm here for my husband's computer, while being on a website this morning he caught a virus on his desktop that's causing more problems then i've seen before. The virus seem to have took over all the spyware removers and anti-virus, and blocked the installation of mbam. When ever my husband starts AVG, a pop-up come up in Firefox telling him to download a anti-virus. With it, AVG doesn't load or start.. If he starts Spybot and Ad-Aware, they won't load at all, He tried downloading mbam, didn't work.. I had to put it in a zip and send it to him. At first it didn't work, we removed the "-" in the name, it installed but now the computer won't load, We tried the normal way, we tried safe mode, safe mode with networking, After clicking his name, when the screen is light blue with the Windows logo.. all we see is his background and no icons come up.. Your help is highly appreciated, Thanks!
Are you able to download any programs at all? If you are then download this program called EndItAll2 http://www.docsdownloads.com/enditall-1.htm Run the program and end any suspicious programs running. Don't end Windows programs just the items that are not windows. If you like AVG that is fine, but I don't think that AVG has a boot time scan which you need. Remove AVG from Add/Remove Programs and download Avast Home. http://avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html You will need to register the program and then they will send you an e-mail with the product registration number. Register the product and then reboot the computer. Avast will do a boot time scan. Remove all that it finds. If there are files in the System32 folder they are a little dangerous to remove. If you have internet access on another computer you may look them up or write down the file name and location. Example: C:\Windows\System32\*file name* then post them here and I can tell you what you need to remove. After all of this is done I suggest a registry cleaning. I like CCleaner even though some prefer RegSeeker. Both are free. CCleaner: http://www.ccleaner.com/ RegSeeker: http://regseeker.en.softonic.com/ After you run all of the above I would suggest running Spybot again. I would also recommend a couple of other programs, but I think that this should get the computer running smooth again. Remember to remove AVG before installing another AV. Two AV's will conflict with each other.
Thank you for your answer! I'll try everything you mentioned on his computer and come back with the report.
